Timing Option for Audio Tracks and Camera Movements

First on our list is the timing option. Doodly’s latest version, 2.9.10, introduces the timing option for audio tracks and camera movements.

This new menu allows you to:

a. Set the Start Time

Now you can precisely adjust the start time of audio tracks and panning & zooming segments with just a right-click. This ensures that your videos are perfectly synchronized and polished.

Here’s how to set the start time:

1. In the timeline, find the audio track you want to adjust – it can be a voiceover, background music, or a sound effect. You can also use this when setting up a pan & zoom effect in your video.
2. Right-click on the track within the timeline.
3. A pop-up window will appear, allowing you to adjust the start time.
4. After making the necessary adjustments, click “Apply” to save your changes.

b. Automatic Shifting

We’ve also added a tickbox for automatic shifting. If you need to adjust subsequent elements in the timeline, just select the tickbox to automatically adjust all the following items. This prevents timing changes that could throw off subsequent elements.

Here’s how it works:

1. From the timeline, choose an audio row you wish to adjust.
2. Right-click and choose Timing.
3. Set your preferred start time (e.g., 3 seconds) and tick the automatic shifting below it.
4. All the audio files from the same row will shift to the right, maintaining the same distance between each track. This is particularly useful when using multiple audio files in the same row.
5. If you set a start time without ticking the automatic shifting, only the selected audio track will move while the rest stay in place.

Voiceover Insertion

Another exciting feature in Doodly’s latest version is the ability to insert voiceovers at any position in the audio timeline. Before, recording a voiceover always started from the beginning of your video. But now, you can record directly to a specific timeline, giving you more flexibility and saving time during the editing process.

Here’s how to use this feature:

1. Locate the voice recording row in the timeline.
2. Position your mouse cursor where you want to add the voiceover.
3. Right-click and select “Record Audio” from the context menu.
4. Start recording your audio.

This new feature eliminates the need to record audio separately and import it into the software, saving you time and effort. With this improved functionality, you can easily record and place your audio anywhere in the timeline, making your workflow smoother and more efficient.

Subtitle Control

Doodly 2.9.10 also introduces a handy feature that gives you more control over subtitles. Now, you can break subtitles and delay their appearance to match the timing of the voiceover, without the need to duplicate scenes or overcrowd your videos. This update allows you to input long subtitles while keeping your scenes clean and organized.

3. Toggle the subtitle menu to ON.

6. You can also add the tag ” to delay the split subtitle for a few seconds. For example, ” will delay the split subtitle for 3 seconds.
7. Preview your video and adjust the timing of the subtitle as needed.
